My Background

I am a lifelong learner and teacher who loves puzzling out how to maximize life outcomes. Your unique challenges and goals are exhilarating calls to action. Getting financial literacy straight is the first step for most people in making their lives work for them and the people they love. I've earned the AFC (Accredited Financial Counselor) designation, and am a certified Homeownership Coach. My training and expertise are all geared toward your life outcomes.

I am a human rights activist and scholar (I have a doctorate in political science, of all things!) who loves nothing more than working one-on-one with folks to make a real difference. I am a longtime immigration activist, LGBTQ ally/fellow traveler, and passionate feminist. I've worked in prison-based education, and in refugee camps. I've run internationally acclaimed workshops. I has been a lifetime real estate investor, (I bought my first house at age 21!). I have made every financial and housing mistake possible, so I can help you prevent, stop making, or recover from yours.

Who I Help

All are welcome here! I can help people make a plan long before they get into a crisis. I help folks who need a little more focus to win; I help folks in crisis.

I especially love helping people the financial industry doesn't support enough. Women, LGBTQIA, new Americans, refugees, people of color can all face extra barriers to taking charge of their money. But getting control of money makes a much bigger difference for these folks! Let's tackle those challenges together.

How I Do It

Each person has unique money challenges -- because each person is unique and has their own goals and dreams. Focusing together on your goals and dreams is the key to making real progress.
